Rev. Dr. John Kreutzwieser has been pastor of Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Moose Jaw since February 1998. John was born on June 1, 1956 in Kitchener, Ontario to Robert and Dorothy (Berlet) Kreutzwieser. After graduating high school in 1975 John attended the University of Waterloo for one year before transferring to Concordia College in Ann Arbor, Michigan to finish his BA degree. He spent 3 years studying at Concordia Lutheran Theological Seminary on the campus of Brock University in St. Catharines, Ontario. John spent a one year internship at Anchorage Lutheran Church, Anchorage Alaska. After a 4 month Clinical Pastoral Education course in family counselling, John was assigned by Lutheran Church Canada to be pastor of Zion Lutheran Church, Plumas, Manitoba starting in January 1983. While serving in Manitoba he met Patricia Lach and they were married on November 11, 1984. Joel Lach Kreutzwieser was born April 26, 1987. Paige Emily Kreutzwieser was born June 10, 1989.
In October 1989 the family moved to Sarnia, Ontario. John became pastor of Christ Lutheran Church in Sarnia – the Brights Grove area. While in Sarnia he served on the national Board of Directors of Lutheran Church Canada. The family moved again in January 1998 to Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan after Emmanuel Lutheran Church called him to become their pastor. Studying at the Institute for Worship Studies in Orange Park, Florida [near Jacksonville] John achieved a doctorate degree in worship studies in June 2006.
