Almighty God, our heavenly Father, has had mercy upon us because of the great sacrifice of the soldier of the Cross, Jesus Christ, who has shown us that greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. Because of the innocent, bitter suffering and death of Jesus Christ, God the Father of all peace has removed our sins from us, as far as the East is from the West. May the blessing of peace in the Gospel of Christ forever surround our soldiers, veterans, and their families.
